Michel Kilo and Others - Arrested

Mahmoud Merey, Secretary of the Arab Organization for Human Rights in Syria [AOHRS], was arrested too.

I know exactly that Syria-News isnt the perfect middle grounds, and not the "honest" news site with absolutly no propagenda. but nonetheless, the comments on Kilo's arrest are disgraceful. What ARE these people, They're Syrians.. and the ones who burnt the european embassies are Syrians. It's a shame. It's disturbing.

Bad waves coming from Damascus,

Michel Kilo was arrested yesterday.. apparently for his role in the [Beirut/Damascus - Damascus/Beirut] petition.

While Kamal Labwani, Fateh Jamous, Ali Abdalla and His 2 sons, Muhammed and Omar are still in custody, and probably will have to face Military Court with convictions of up to "Death Penalty".

And ofcourse, Professor Aref Dalileh, the only remaining imprisoned figure of the Damascus Spring [Kamal Labwani was relaeased after he finished his sentence, and then was re-arrested upon his return from the US]. Prof. Dalileh is still serving his 10 years sentence [Arrested in September 2001].

This regime has already far outlived its expiration date.
For crying out loud, can we start doing something about it...

Next year, President Bashar Assad will have finished his first term in presidency, and will be probably unanimosly re-elected. I can definitley see the potentials for "change" and "reform" throughout the last 7 years, I can definitley see how hard they cracked down on corruption and poverty, I can tell just by looking in his eyes how clever Syria's foreign policy was...

Syrian political sites have either surrendered to the Intelligence or were shut down, Syria-News falls under the former category...
