I feel like ur sister; NO ur not!

when a female says "ur like my brother", [in ANY context, ANY tone and ANY meaning] it only means one thing... NOT INTERSTED,

Okay, regradless from the fact that I still think it's a really stupid way... and that being straight forward says a lot more about that particular person... and bla bla bla...

who gives a rotten rat's ass about u feeling like my sister???...

On another note, says who that a brother is a higher rank than a friend?!!! I don't have any brothers, I donno the feeling... but I've seen a lot of families, great ones, and really fucked up ones... and I wouldn't trade a single friend with a whole dozen of brothers!

I'm not a family person, I love my dad, I adore my mom... but not because they're my MOM and DAD...being my parents is THEIR PROBLEMO!!! I adore them, I respect them... just because they're what they are... a brilliant successful individuals [at least from my perspective] same goes for uncles, aunts.... EVERYONE>>>
I love my dad, but when he screws up I WILL tell it to his face, and NO it isn't disrespectful to him!!! eeryone makes mistakes... no matter how old they are... personally, I feel that everyone makes the same mistakes and with the same average [mistake/year] no matter how old they are, it's just that when u get older and older u become less sensitive and less vulnerable, and ppl tend to forget ur mistakes WAY more than when u were still young!

All in all, Family is just a biological concept, the real connection is Friendship!

I agree on some of it! I sometimes and life proved to me that friendship could be more effective than relatives! I sometimes thank God, cuz i don't have sis, and only 1 bros who lives far away since long time...but don't u feel that made u selfish to some extant?.
one of my friend is so sensetive when a girl tells him that he is like her bros...in opposite to u, he feel it like I love u, and he aslo believes that any relationship in our society between guys and girls starts like u r like my sis or bros! like a clever way to hide their admiration... Finally although what u said about making mistakes is logical,,,,but that's totaly cancels the human learning abilities! hey those who doesnt learn from their mistakes r stupid, but I guess every time we make another new invented mistakes in an endless way!

Crap?! well, maybe... it is extreme, I admit,.. but u didn't get the point... the point is, NO matter who u are to me, or what u believe in, or what u think u believe in, or what u say u belive in, that's crap, that's nothing... the only things that means is What u do, ur actions... If a guy proudly believes in Nazism, and somehow interpret such a hostile into saint-like actions... then he's a SAINT... actions define who u are...
I might be missing out on a lot... but when u chose, then ur definitly gonna have to miss out on sth... I chose individuality, and u too are missing on a lot... I'm not talking about ripping the authority of parents... I'm talking about getting rid of the whole odipus complex... in Humanity as a whole!

Selfish?! why...?! because I like to treat ppl on the basis of HOW THEY ACT instead of WHO THEY ARE?!... I donno, maybe...

Well, since it's a way to hide.. then it's definitly NOT clever... that's the point... STOP hiding... I'd rather never hear the "I love u" than hear sth like "Ur like my bro"!!! why...?!!! what's wrong with the "I love u" it's cheesy, I know, but at least it's WAY more honest... in our society, u say?! well... another reason why we need to blow all apart and start over again! ;)
I meant exactly that way... we make the same mistakes... but in different shapes, when u look at it from a far.. there's only few mistakes to make... but these few mistakes can come in a trazillion image!!!!

No one is like a brother or sister, it is either they are emabarressed of expressing their true feelings or simply lack of chemistry.

Chemsitry is very important regardless of age, status, etc.., I sometimes use the expression " ur like a brother" but then i realized that it is no longer proper to use.
So now I try to express my feelings directly and with no sugar coating if I'm not pressured, I remain silent.

Family is great and we are blessed to have them, but they can't always substitute friends and vise versa.

for some brothers and sisters are crap.. that's why they might use you are a sister to me :D....
the mere problem here that noone can be so frank... ok .. truth might hurt .. but at least it might be a cure for a long time hopeless hope...
or at least " ask me no question , tell you no lies " concept can be ok...
anyways.. the phrase that says " it's not you ,, it's me " lol ... i love it...
I invented it's not you it's me ;)

yeslam timmak ya Yazan... I agree that people need to stop hiding and start being themselves and simply be honest.

I for one, have a serious complex with lying. I can't stand it. I don't care brutal the truth is, I'd rather know it than live a stupid lie. At least I know what's going on. I might be hurt but there isn't anything time won't heal if I choose it to do so. I also am honest, if somebody was interested in me, I wouldn't say anything but something on the lines, "I'm sorry I think you're a good guy and everything but... I'm not interested to take this to a different level" Does it sound harsh, maybe but hell, I want these people to know what the deal is.

It's sad, that in our society it's sucks for a girl to express her feelings to a guy. I mean why not? Isn't she human to? Doesn't she have feelings? This double standards totally blows. If a guy were to think that a girl is cheap for expressing her feelings, then he's not even worth talking to in the first place because God knows what other backward thinking this person might have.

I, like Ghalia, just have an older brother who I hadn't seen for over 5 years. Honestly, I'm not close to him at all to begin with. I don't even know who he really is and I'm sure it's vice versa as well. It's Ironic in just few months, I got to know some of the bloggers a lot better than my brother who I grew up with. I'm not complaining really because somehow I got friends to make up for that a little.

If I would to consider somebody as a brother, I'd want to be able to take him home with me like I would with a brother. Hang out with my parents etc... If not really, this person can't really be like a brother if I want to get the full thing.

I used to call people my brother and sister but after a while I realize what's the point? I'm just creating something to make up for growing up to be alone most of the time.

My close friends rock my world and I think that's totaly an essential thing in my life.
